The Manifesto of the 343 Sluts (le manifeste des 343 salopes), is a declaration signed by 343 women admitting to having had an abortion, thereby exposing themselves to criminal prosecution. The manifesto appeared in the French magazine Le Nouvel Observateur on April 5, 1971.
The text of the manifesto was written by Simone de Beauvoir. Here’s the beginning:
“One million women in France have an abortion every year. Condemned to secrecy, they have them in dangerous conditions when this procedure, performed under medical supervision, is one of the simplest. These women are veiled in silence. I declare that I am one of them. I have had an abortion. Just as we demand free access to birth control, we demand the freedom to have an abortion.”
The women above are Françoise Sagan, Simone de Beauvoir, Gisèle Halimi & Catherine Deneuve.

aminatou:

“It always fascinated me how people go from loving you madly to nothing at all, nothing. It hurts so much.

When I feel someone is going to leave me, I have a tendency to break up first before I get to hear the whole thing. Here it is. One more, one less. Another wasted love story.

I really love this one.

When I think that its over, that I’ll never see him again like this… well yes, I’ll bump into him, we’ll meet our new boyfriend and girlfriend, act as if we had never been together, then we’ll slowly think of each other less and less until we forget each other completely. Almost.

Always the same for me. Break up, break down. Drunk up, fool around. Meet one guy, then another, fuck around. Forget the one and only. Then after a few months of total emptiness start again to look for true love, desperately look everywhere and after two years of loneliness meet a new love and swear it is the one, until that one is gone as well.

There’s a moment in life where you can’t recover any more from another break-up. And even if this person bugs you sixty percent of the time, well you still can’t live without him. And even if he wakes you up every day by sneezing right in your face, well you love his sneezes more than anyone else’s kisses.”

You can tell the democratic party that you won’t give them any money until they pass legislation at the federal level. Just sayin’…

Sexual Assault on Campus Shrouded in Secrecy
A nine-month investigation by the Center for Public Integrity has found that a thick blanket of secrecy envelops cases involving allegations of sexual assault on campus. Many victims don’t report at all, and those who do come forward can encounter secret disciplinary proceedings, closed-mouthed school administrations, and off-the-record negotiations.

"Did you know that in 2008, the Governor of New York was accused of buying sex from a prostitution ring and was then pressured to resign from his position within days? But in early 2009, a State Senator was accused of beating his girlfriend with broken glass, found guilty of domestic violence in a court of law, and has not resigned?"

You can turn up the heat.
